Bus Ski Stations, Nice Alpes-Maritimes

Buses for the Alpes-Maritimes ski stations Auron, Isola 2000, Valberg and Val d'Allos leave from the Nice bus station (gare routiere) the railway station (gare SNCF) and the Nice airport.

As of 16 December 2008, reservations by telephone are required for these buses to the the ski stations. For the morning bus up, you must reserve before 16h30 of the previous day (eg. call before 4 PM Tuesday to reserve on the Wed morning bus to the ski station). For the evening bus up, reserve before 13h30 (eg, call during the morning, up to one-thirty PM, for the 17h0 bus to the ski station).

For the return trip, phone before 13h30 for the evening bus back. Probably phone the day before to reserve on the morning bus returning for Nice. We were given the portable number 0616 281 829 to call for the return trip.

Cost: There are now (2012) a mixture of standard buses at 1 € (with an additional charge for baggage), and 100% Neige buses at 4 €, with online reservation.

We found the reservation requirements a bit ambiguous, even with our phone calls to verify the information. Check out the websites yourself, and plan ahead.

• These Ski-Station buses run most frequently during the Winter-Spring ski season. They also run the rest of the year, but less frequently. The "summer" schedules area available on-line (via the above link) from about April.
