Crocus nudiflorus Fr: Crocus nudiflorus
This crocus is a low perennial, with deep purple to lilac-purple flowers, with a white to lilac throat.
Flowers. Sept-Oct
Flower. Although most crocuses bloom in the autumn, this one was photographed in February, on the Plateau de Caussols.
Leaves. The 3-4 green leaves are 2-4 mm wide, basal (like all crocuses), and appear long after flowering.
Habitat. Moist meadows.
