Cathars Region Red Train
The Train du Pays Cathare et du Fenouillèdes is a tourist train west of Perpignan that travels up the valleys into the heart of the old Cathar country ( Cathars ).

The route is 60 km long, from the village of Rivesaltes, 12 km north of Perpignan. The stops along the full route are at the villages of: Rivesaltes (just north of Perpignan), Espira-de-l'Agly, Estagel, Maury, St Paul-de-Fenouillet, Caudiès-de-Fenouillèdes, lapradelle-Puilaurens, Axat.
The train runs mainly from April until mid-November, with half-day and full-day trips. You can also do shorter trips between the villages along the route. Special theme trains are available for Patrimoine day (15 Sept), Halloween (31 Oct) and Father Christmas (December).
