Val-de-Bénédiction is a 14th-century Carthusian Monastery in the village of Villeneuve-les-Avignon, on the right bank of the Rhône across from Avignon. The Chartreuse has cloisters, monks' cells and gardens, and the ruins of a once-magnificent church inside its walls.
