Discovery Child + (Découverte Enfants +)
If you travel with a child who is less than 12 years old, once you have
shown proof of the child's age, you can benefit from a Child Discovery
+ tariff. This tariff allows the child of less than 12 years old and
those accompanying them (1 minimum, 4 maximum) to benefit from a 25%
discount on the normal fare:
* On all TGVs : subject to availability
* On all other trains (Main Lines and Regional) for any journey beginning
in a blue period on the travellers' calendar.
The Discovery Child + discount does not apply to tickets bought on board
the train
The child and those people accompanying them (adult or child) do not
need to be related
* A child of between 4 and 12 years old pays half of the adult fare.
* A child of less than 4 years old will still entitle the people accompanying
them to a discount fare, and can travel free of charge, but without
a specific seat.
With the Bambin subscription, your child of less than 4 years old can
benefit from their own seat.
Young Traveller Service (Service Jeune Voyageur: JVS)
Your children can travel alone if they are between 4 and 13 years of
age. Our hostesses take care of them, keep them company, and keep them
amused during their journey.
For this, all you need to do is book in advance and buy a 2nd class
ticket, with the JVS subscription: about 40 euros [check with SNCF
or the www.voyages-sncf.com web for latest price]
This service is available throughout the school holidays. To find the

Discovery 12-25 (Découverte 12-25)
Once you have shown proof of your age (from 12 to 25 years old), you
can benefit from a 25% discount on the normal fare:
* On TGV and sleeping accomodation of Main Lines trains, subject to
availability
* In upright seats of other trains Main Line and Regional for any journey
beginning in a blue period on the travellers' calendar.
The Discovery 12-25 discount does not apply to tickets bought on the
train.
Discovery Senior (Découverte Senior)
Even if you only travel occasionally, you can still benefit from the
Discovery Senior discount if you produce documentary proof that you
are over 60 years of age. This tariff offers a discount of 25% on the
basic fare:
* On TGV and sleeping accommodation of Main Lines trains, subject to
availibility
* In upright seats of other trains Main Line and Regional for journeys
started in the blue period shown on the Travellers calendar.
The Discovery Senior discount does not apply to tickets purchased on
board.
Senior Card (Carte Senior)
Unlimited journeys for the overs 60's with Senior Card
The Senior Card is a personalised card, for about 50 euros a
year, that allows you to take advantage of discount fares on an unlimited
number of 1st or 2nd class journeys.
This card offers a discount on the basic price of 50%:
* On TGV and sleeping accommodation of Main Lines trains : subject to
availability
* In upright seats of other trains Main Line and Regional, for journeys
started on the blue period shown on the Travellers calendar.
25% guaranteed:
* On TGV and sleeping accomodation of Main Lines trains : subject to
availibility
* In upright seats of other trains Main Line and Regional, for journeys
started in the white period shown in the Travellers calendar.
N.B: The Senior Card can be refunded, subject to a 10% deduction, if
this request is made before the start of the cards validity date.
No replacement card will be supplied if the original card is lost or
stolen.
To enable your card to be issued, please remember to bring an identity
photo with you when you apply
Discovrey by 2 tariff (Découverte à 2)
If two of you make a return journey together, whether or not you have
any direct family link, you can benefit from a 25% discount on the basic
fare:
* on all TGVs, subject to availability
* on all the other trains (Main lines and regional), for any journey
beginning in a blue period on the travellers' calendar.
The discount does not apply to
* journeys completely contained within the Paris Transport region.
* tickets bought on the train.
Discovery short stay tariff (Découverte Séjour)
If you are making a return journey of at least 200 Km, and if your stay
includes Saturday or Sunday night, you can benefit from the Discovery
Short Stay tariff. This tariff, available in 1st or 2nd class, gives
you a 25% discount on the basic fare.
* on all TGVs : subject to availability
* on all the other trains (Main lines and regional), for any journey
beginning in a blue period on the travellers' calendar.
The ticket must be used on the date shown as the departure date, or
be exchanged if you have decided to postpone your journey.
The Discovery Short Stay discount does not apply to tickets bought on
the train.
Discovery J30, Discovery J8 (Découverte J 30 Découverte
J8)
Accessible to all, as long as you reserve in advance, the Discovery
J30 and Discovery J8 tariffs include the price of a reserved seat or
sleeping bunk.
They are available in 2nd class, subject to availability, for over 470
National and International links. They are available on TGVs and other
Main Line trains. Given the specific time limits applied to Discovery
J30 and Discovery J8 tariffs, these tickets are not available by mail
order.
Discovery J30 tariff (Découverte J30)
* Reservation must be made between 30 days and 2 months before you leave.
This is the cheapest formula
Discovery J30 tariff (Découverte J8)
* Reservation must be made between 8 days and 2 months before you leave.
This is the most flexible formula
If there are no more Discovery J30 places available, you might be offered
Discovery J8 places.
Your ticket is only valid for the train you have booked. It cannot be
exchanged, but can be refunded up to 4 days before departure, with a
cancellation charge of 30% of the ticket cost. After this time, the
ticket cannot be refunded.
