Special Provencal dishes with photos.
Chez Nous is an excellent little restaurant, in Andon since 2008. Run by Dominique Granet, a chef passionate about cooking.
The menu is short, imaginative and varies frequently. The ingredients are always fresh and everything is "home made", from the fois gras or terrine to the daube that cooks for five hours.
The dining room is small, but light and gay. The menu is on a chalk board only, reflecting the daily variation in choices.
Dominique began cooking at the age of 15, learning from his grandmother. Many of the great dishes he serves up today are still based on his grandmother's recipes.
With three of us for lunch, we were first served Dominique's home-made terrine. Our starters then were a light, goat-cheese quiche and a marinated salmon. For main dishes we chose Poulet au Citron and Lapin au basilic. The cheese course was served with confiture de tomate (tomato jam). Our desert choices were Dominique's own Baba au rum and Tarte de pomme glace vanille (apple pie with icecream).
